Amazing what our wonderful friends have come up with for this season.
Santa, I want EVERYTHING!

Thanks to all who are helping others by bringing in massive amounts of food and non perishable items for our local friends. This has been so successful that we will probably make this a yearly project.
Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting a new friend in the shop, Nancy. Nancy required a little bit of extra help and the right people just happened to be here to help her. When making her final purchases, Nancy said to me "I feel as if I lit into a nest of angels when I came to visit this shop". Now, I am not here to state that we are angels by any stretch of the imagination, but I think you can see that we put our hearts in to everything we do. Our goal is to honor people, help the community, and to inspire our friends and customers. Nancy thinks we do and so do I! I make it a special point to surround myself with the most amazing employees, vendors (who are now our dearest and bestest friends) and our wonderful customers. That truly is the difference between an adequate shop and an amazing place to be.
Thank you, dear friends, colleagues, customers, old and young, for allowing us to be the best we can be. We will not forget who helped us achieve these goals.
Blessings to you all! Peggy and Staff

A Corner Cottage is on WISHTV!!!

We were pleased as punch to be contacted by Channel 8 last week with a request to film Dick Wolfsie's Sunday morning segments from our wonderful shop. Sooooo, Sunday I wake up at the crack of dawn, drive to the shop, bake the cookies and turn on the spiced cider. While doing all my tasks, I look out the window to the largest, freshest, one of a kind snowflakes falling and had to take a quick breath - the beauty of the snow in the dark, falling upon all the lights and the old buildings located in our historic downtown. If that doesn't make us feel blessed, I don't know what will.
Cindy Kirby, the Noblesville Downtown Parade organizer, was here and so was David Boudia, Noblesville's own Olympic swimmer. And of course, Dick. I cannot believe how many friends have called this week to let us know they saw us on the big screen. I was able to perform as Vanna White as I pointed out specialty items in the store. Gosh, I think I might have found my second calling. Anyway, barring the technical difficulties of two of the four segments, we had a great time and more than a few laughs.
Please note: During First Friday in Downtown Noblesville Dec. 5, our new friend, Dick Wolfsie, will be signing his books in our shop! Now, we've never done this before, but we are excited to take another new adventure. If you don't want Dick's books, just come to meet and greet. He's crazier than we are! Really! All proceeds from his book go to "Never Too Late" which is a charity that grants wishes to senior citizens. How cool is that?
We are having a huge sale this weekend, too. 40% (yes, 40%!) off any one item not antique or vintage and 20% off of all the remaining products in the shop. Very few restrictions apply. Save some money, have some fun and visit us!

Our Christmas Open House was so much fun! It was pleasing to hear all the nice comments from our wonderful customers. You can tell that even though times are hard our customers sure felt the enegy and excitement coming from our shop. Take a look at a few of the many vignettes we completed...all of us now walk through the shop with a spattering of glitter on our faces - a sure sign it is that wonderful time of the year! Visit us soon. Peggy

The shop hosted a group of women who were out to redo, re-frou frou, and learn some simple decorating techniques which could be used anywhere. Thanks, girls, for your enthusiasm and laughter.......wasn't it the best fun? Shhhhhhhhh! More classes coming in the winter months.

Autumn has Arrived!

Hi everyone,

Don't you just love the fall weather we are having? I look out my window and see my 2 kittens jumping up and trying to catch the falling leaves. When I awake in the morning I see the remains of frost on my car. You see, I cannot park my car in the garage (much to hubby's chagrin) because of all the projects I've been collecting. I've decided to teach a new class (many of you remember I did this before and we had so much fun). I'm calling this class "REDO FROU FROU'. Now I have no idea how to spell that word but it looks and sounds good to me. I have taken so many everyday items and easily made them into a new object which will surely impress you! And the best thing is: this class is FREE! I will clear my garage and share my ideas with you. Different, easy paint techniques will be taught, too.

Sunday, October 19 from 1:00 - 2:30.....I will be walking the shop looking for objects that can be made into a new project and cleaning out my garage! (Roger may come to the class just to make sure I'm not bringing anything else home.) Feel free to bring your own unusual object (or even a photo) so that I can help you redo frou frou as inexpensively as possible. Please come and share a few laughs with us! What would really help us is if you could please call or email us and reserve a spot. This way we can prepare for everyone.

If you haven't heard - we have Halloween and fall items 25% off right now. We are also offering one of our most popular specials - spend $25 and receive a free gift from us. Can it get any better than that? We have begun Christmas decorating....slowly but surely. We certainly don't want to rush the season, but so many of you have been asking, we are complying with your wishes and decorating a little earlier than usual. Our basement is overflowing with goodies for you and my heart races in anticipation of our upcoming open house. We've kept our prices reasonable as always and limited our quantities this year. You know, its been a tough year for all and we are right there with you looking for bargains and surprises. Give us a try again!

We have a new booth vendor and you are going to love her style. She can take any old thing and put it together - her booth looks like a magazine photo. And true to form - all of our vendors are striving to bring you quality and reasonable prices. We have new painted furniture and many one of a kind items which will decorate beautifully. I've been told we've got lots of vintage Christmas treasures coming in by Nov. 7. Thanks always to all of our employees/vendors/friends. We KNOW we couldn't have this shop without you. We have 5 new employees so stop in to say hello and watch their smiles shine back at you.
Mark your calendars now:

October 19 - NEW CLASS

November 7, 8 and 9 CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE

Let's see what's new:

*Like I said, frost in on the pumpkin and your feet are bound to be cold. These fuzzy slippers will cure those goosebumps for you. We had these last year and sold out......what a great gift for anyone!

*Sage green your thing? This cupboard is painted with 2 shades of sage green and I want to keep this! Lots of storage space and drawers.

*Light up your Life" with these special, stained glass night lights.

*Still a good selection of Halloween/fall remaining. Won't last long, though.

*Country, country, country. Add some of these items to any home decor.

*New jewelry! Glitter and glisten with new bling.

Fall Greetings

Fall greetings from A Corner Cottage! We cannot believe school has begun but it sure gives us more time to be out shopping. All of us have been out hunting bargains for all of you. New items are arriving daily so you must come and see.

A fresh supply of typewriter jewelry and button jewelry is here! Don't forget we can special order any initial in any piece with about a 2 week wait. These are handmade right here in Indiana.

We have a lovely pink dresser w/4 drawers just awaiting a new home. The mirror just makes this piece. What little girl wouldn't love this? Keep bringing these treats in, Joann!

A traditional round oak table, not too big and not too small. Very sturdy. A design tip: always have a piece of black furniture in every room. It grounds the entire setting.

Monica has brought in tons of pink stuffs and we love it all. Check out these great feminine lamps.

The best yet! Nancy has found this wonderful glass front carved hutch. Very shabby and very desired - its got the WOW factor we love around here.

How about a black and white toile table and 2 chairs? So simple and classy. Sandy, you did it again!

Marsha just brought in some wonderful fall accent pieces. I am absolutely crazy about the colors of these fall accessories. You can add them to your tablescapes along with miniature pumpkin salt and pepper sets.

As you can see, ACC changes on a daily basis. Pay us a visit soon!

hours: Mon. - Sat. 10 - 5, Sun 1 - 5

Thank you for your business. Hugs, Peggy

We have had such a wonderful birthday sale! Thanks to you all for helping us get ready for a new season, brand new furniture and lots of new items. We have all sold so much furniture I cannot even take photos for the blogspot. It was so nice to see so many of our old friends visit us for our birthday and bring their friends. We ate, drank and sold for 7 whole days. Now we are very busy creating new vignettes with so many new ideas for you. Come to see us, we are changing every day.

Coming soon: More photos!!!

Coming soon: Because so many of you have asked and because I have one of those brains that never stops, I am planning a decorating class in the very near future. We had such fun with this endeavor several years ago, we thought I could again teach a class or two. If you are interested, let us know. If you have an idea for a class, let us know that, too. Send us an email at acornercottage@comcast.net. We'll post the dates and use email to get the word out to you, so stay tuned for some fun and creativity very soon.

Thanks to all for making our little shop the very best it can be. We love having you as friends! Peggy
